Palm oil
Red, dense, fragrant. Extracted from the bunches within days of harvest, before the fruit ferments. For cooking, processing and retail.
Cocoa
Pods opened on harvest day, beans fermented then dried on racks. For chocolate makers and processors.
Safou
The purple fruit of the Likouala, picked ripe from the tree. Fresh during the season, processed the rest of the year. A product few farms offer outside Congo.
Honey
Harvested from apiaries set at the forest edge. On the way, the bees pollinate the maize, the vegetables and the safou trees.
Pineapple
Picked ripe, not before. Sold fresh within the department, and on request beyond.
Maize
Grown for the village and the local market. On the cob or as grain, as required.
Vegetables
African eggplants, okra, chillies and leafy greens. The exact list follows the season and remains to be set with the farm.
